Breast Cancer Reconstruction

Breast Cancer Awareness

Recover, restore, renew.

At Franciscan Plastic Surgery Associates, our surgeons and their skilled, compassionate teams are devoted to helping survivors of breast cancer, a disease which strikes one in eight women. The surgeons bring extensive experience in the latest reconstructive techniques. The majority of our breast-reconstruction patients are breast-cancer survivors.

Newly diagnosed patients can meet with a surgeon without delay. Our caring staff will make you feel comfortable. Our surgeons will review your medical history and conduct a full examination. They will take the time explain the surgical treatment options that will best fit your lifestyle. Factors to consider include type of breast cancer, overall health, medical history, anatomy and desired outcomes.

The most common approach to breast reconstruction is to use artificial tissue expanders and implants. However, some patients are not candidates for this technique and require tissue harvested from their own body to reconstruct their breasts, commonly called "flap surgery." Together, you and your doctor will determine the best approach.
